Lay out mats as required keeping in mind the most efficient layout to reduce wastage and the amount of cutting required.
Cutting the mats using a high-quality Stanley knife (or similar) can be assisted by dipping the knife blade in water to reduce the friction.
Since rubber is a natural product temperature will cause slight changes in size, therefore only drill as many anchor holes for the pins as you can keep up with (ie. Don’t drill too many holes ahead as the mats will slightly expand or reduce in size with the temperature variations).
Using a 6.5mm masonry bit, drill holes approximately 30% deeper than the pin length to allow for dust retention in the bottom of the drill hole.
Hammer in the pins to secure the mat. Ensure the pins are not hammered in too far causing the mat to distort around the pin holes.
